Director of Community Engagement

As Point Blue’s Director of Community Engagement, I collaborate closely with program staff across the organization to pursue government grants and grow our relationships with institutional funders to help support and sustain the conservation science we do at Point Blue. I also work on policy engagement and community science/volunteer engagement to help grow the impact of our work.

I grew up in the redwoods of Northern Humboldt, and have always had a deep passion for the outdoors and conservation. While my early career background is in hospitality and administration, I returned to school in 2016 to study conservation while concurrently working in the field of environmental education. I received my BA in Environmental Studies and Planning from Sonoma State university in 2018, and during my last semester there, I began working in a position at Point Blue as a project coordinator for a citizen science research project. Since then, my position within the organization has evolved, but my passion for conservation has only grown stronger. I’m thrilled to be immersed in an environment with so many individuals who are working toward science-driven conservation and climate-smart solutions that address some of the broad environmental issues we are currently facing.

When I’m not at my desk, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new swimming holes and backpacking trails, and working in my garden.
