Ian is the founding partner of Altman & Cronin Benefit Consultants in San Francisco. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and the Governor’s appointee to the California Actuarial Advisory Panel. He is the former President of the Western Pension and Benefits Conference and a frequent lecturer on employee benefits. Ian has philanthropic interests in environmental issues, education, social services and the arts. He presently serves on the Audit Committee of SF MOMA, and on the Board of Advisors of the Yale Jackson Institute of Global Affairs. Ian chairs the HR and Retirement Committees for Jewish Family and Children’s Services, where he previously served as Executive Vice President. Ian lives in Marin County with his wife Laura, and they travel frequently with their son Jonathan, daughter Alison and son-in-law Jared. Ian holds a BA with Honors from Yale University.
