Working Lands Partner Biologist

As a Partner Biologist, my work is focused in my enchanting hometown community of Nevada County. I support and enable conservation planning, technical assistance, and programs through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in addition to collecting data and furthering Point Blue’s innovative science and applications for climate-smart outcomes.

Being a part of the Working Lands team allows me to collaborate with ranchers, farmers, ecologists, and a diverse group of conservationists interested in the present and future elevation of essential landscapes for wildlife habitat, carbon sequestration, food and fiber production, recreation, biodiversity protection, and the abundant additional benefits of undeveloped spaces.

I was raised on my family’s multigenerational ranch near Nevada City. A fondness of the natural world and all things interconnected in agriculture and ecology was cultivated early by living close to the land. During and after completing a B.S. degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, I worked for the U.C. Sierra Foothill Research & Extension Center studying rangeland ecology and invasive species dynamics. Prior to joining Point Blue in September of 2020, I managed natural resource and community projects with the Placer Resource Conservation District.

I can usually be found near Grass Valley or Nevada City with a perplexed look as plants, insects, soils, water, animals, people, and places continually ignite and fuel inner curiosities. Being outdoors hiking, fishing, running, gardening, hunting, ranching, and exploring nourishes and encourages me.
