Celebrate Our 57th Birthday with Native Plants!
March 15, 2022
Give 10% and get 10% when you purchase CA native plants to celebrate Point Blue Conservation Science’s 57th birthday.
March 18th, 1965 is the day that we were incorporated as a non-profit conservation organization and embarked on our journey to conserve birds, wildlife, and ecosystems through science, partnerships, and outreach.
Planting native plants and creating native habitat is one of the best ways to help birds, other wildlife, and the ecosystems we all depend on. Native plants provide food (think natural hummingbird and butterfly feeders!), shelter (who doesn’t love to watch birds and bees hanging out in the trees and bushes), and nesting spots (hello there Bewick’s Wren babies in my backyard!) while often being low maintenance and drought tolerant. Additionally, they help fight climate change by sucking CO2 out of the air and storing more carbon in the soil. They are the gift that keeps on giving for all of us. That’s why we want to celebrate our 57th birthday with them and you!
Our intention with this birthday promotion is to encourage people to purchase and plant native plants in celebration of Point Blue’s 57th birthday this month and beyond. We want to support and promote nurseries who are providing native plants for the public, empower people to help with ecosystem health by planting natives in their personal landscaping spaces, and celebrate and support the conservation impact Point Blue has had and continues to provide. We also see this effort contributing in a small way to the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Every little bit counts!
We’re thrilled that two of the nurseries we partner with to do large-scale habitat restoration were excited to join in the celebration and invite their customers to join the native plant party too!
