Educator, STRAW Program
As a conservation educator with the STRAW Program, I teach at schools throughout the Bay Area, provide support at STRAW restorations, and much more.
I was born and raised in Hawaii where I grew up fishing and swimming in the beautiful coastal reefs of the Big Island. This love of the ocean led me to pursue/receive a B.S. in Marine Science, B.A in Communications and Master of Science in Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science from the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
After graduating, I worked for the State of Hawaii as the Outreach & Education Associate for the Marine Protected Species Program, conducting outreach within the local community and participating in endangered species response work. For the past several years, I have led outdoor field trips for thousands of students in Sonoma County with a focus on equitable access to the outdoors.
When not at work you can find me fishing along the coast or lakes.
