Born in the East Bay, grew up in Seattle, attended Wellesley College for two years and graduated from the University of Washington. Have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.

Board Experience includes American Birding Association; Point Reyes Bird Observatory (Board Chair), Board of Managers, The Heritage (Chair), and Board of Trustees, The Heritage; the Community Music Center; Cathedral School Parents Association (Chair).

Lived in Cairo, Egypt for 2 years and Washington D.C. for 8 years, returning to San Francisco in 1993. Have traveled and birded extensively in the United States, Central and South America, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Team member in Panama and Bodega Bay on Earthwatch Expeditions involving avian research.

Gift Buyer and sales assistant for the Audubon Naturalist Society Bookshop in Washington D.C. and prior to that manager for Sterling Vineyards Gift Shop.
