Partner Biologist, Mendocino County

As a Partner Biologist for Mendocino County, I work in conjunction with Ukiah’s NRCS Office. Having lived and worked in Mendocino County since 2021, it means a lot to me having the opportunity to work with local landowners to help develop and promote a variety of working lands conservation efforts in the place I now call home.

I was raised in northeast South Dakota where crop and grazing lands were the backbone of the community. Spending most of my childhood outdoors, I grew a deep appreciation wildlife and the lands they inhabit. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainability with dual emphases in Environmental Science and Environmental Policy from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2019, focusing on wildlife ecology, biology, and geospatial technology. After graduation, I worked all over the country working on a wide variety of wildlife research and monitoring projects including avian point counts, small mammal ecology, deer depredation perception research, raptor surveys and monitoring, Mexican wolf recovery efforts, and general biological and botanical assessments for consulting purposes here in California.

When not working, you can often find me hiking, skiing, running, exploring new places, and coaching high school track and field.
