Avian Ecologist
As an Avian Ecologist with Point Blue, my work is focused on monitoring Northern Spotted Owls during the breeding season in Marin County, surveying for secretive marsh birds around the San Francisco Bay, and supporting field efforts to study migratory shorebirds in the Central Valley.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and received a B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University. My passion for wildlife grew as I gained experience in the field through a series of internships after finishing undergrad and I knew with certainty that I wanted to pursue a career in conservation. I joined Point Blue’s Northern Spotted Owl monitoring crew in 2020 and was immediately fascinated and inspired by this iconic species, the unique study system of Marin, and Point Blue’s mission of climate-smart conservation. Since then, I’ve continued working on various Point Blue projects throughout the San Francisco Bay and Central Valley.
When I’m not in the field, you can usually find me working from the Palomarin Field Station in Bolinas. In my free time, I enjoy hiking around Point Reyes, seeking out live music, and spending quality time with family & friends.
