Point Blue Marine Lab

Exploratorium

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pier 15 (Embarcadero at Green Street) | San Francisco, CA 94111

In the Point Blue Marine Lab, we study the three P’s of marine food webs: puke, poop, and plankton. Visit us at the Exploratorium on Friday, March 28th, to see the first of these—puke! To be more specific, we will be learning about the regurgitated pellets of Brandt’s cormorants, a common piscivorous (fish-eating) seabird. From otoliths (fish earstones) to cephalopod beaks, these pellets give us insights into what these birds have been eating and how their food sources change over time. Drop by and learn more!

For questions please contact Meredith Elliott at melliott@pointblue.org.
